We’re currently looking for a Sawmill Assistant. Duties include tending to the sawmill with lead sawyer, operating with lead sawyer, operating machinery, and general log yard upkeep. Experience with chainsaws, tractors, and machinery preferred but not required. Will train the right candidate. Konkapot Tree and Timber prioritizes safe work practices and offers opportunities to advance and learn new skills. Pay: $20-$25/hr depending on experience.

Will Conklin of Greenagers & Konkapot Tree and Timber!

Will is the founding Executive Director of Greenagers, a local environmental youth organization. Greenagers’ mission is “Youth working to strengthen the environment and our community.” Greenagers, collaborating with other community organizations, has pioneered a vibrant youth employment program in the greater Berkshire region as well as furthering youth volunteering, service learning, and climate change education in the region. Greenagers is the owner and steward of the 100-acre historic homestead April Hill Conservation and Education Center in South Egremont, MA.

Will is also a managing partner of Konkapot Tree and Timber, a small-scale forest products business. Konkapot offers a wide range of services, including sustainable forest management, lumber production, custom sawmilling, and firewood. With a commitment to responsible practices and quality workmanship, the company continues to expand its capabilities to better serve the needs of the community. They have worked with homeowners and landowners throughout Berkshire County, Litchfield County, and the Capital Region.

Will, his wife Amelia, and their daughters Vera and Penelope, run Sky View Farm in Sheffield, producing grassfed beef. They are 4th generation stewards of the property.
